AAS Award Night Dinner 2013 - Della & Seng Gee Guild Hall, NUSS

First and foremost, we would like to thank the AAS and the Award Committee for the beautiful dinner. It is our absolute honour to be recognized as the Outstanding Australian University Alumni Association, and even more an honour to have received the inaugural Outstanding Australian University Alumni Award from Minister Iswaran (Minister in Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Defence, Second Minister for Trade and Industry).

Our association came a long way since it was founded in 1993 by a group of six founding members led by our first president, Mr Tan Kah Hoe. Our special thanks goes first to this group of six founding benefactors who have allowed us to grow since inception (Mr Tan Kah Hoe, Mr Daniel Teo, Mr Khoo Swee Chiow, Mr Lim Kah Ho, Mr Esmond Choo and Mr Derek Chan).

The University of Melbourne is Australia’s second oldest and leading university and most certainly an enjoyable institution to study in Australia. The university also continues to support the graduates and alumni in numerous ways. Thanking our country manager, Ms Teri Ng, who is based in Singapore and who has given us so much encouragement. Also thanking all the way from Australia, Professor Ashok, our Associate Dean of Engagement, who represented our university during the award night dinner.

Last but not least, thanking all the committee members (past & present) who continue to share in the same values of team work, passion and perseverance. We aim to create a great Melbourne University alumni presence, and also look forward to a continual relationship with the AAS and other alumni associations to create a vibrant Australian alumni presence in Singapore !
